She turns her phone off
Hide behind little lies
And shuts the blinds
Evelyn needed a drink. That was for sure. After a long, stressful day at the festival medical tent, you'd want a drink too. Or two. Maybe a few more. The festival these days really was getting rough. More rough than usual. A couple of hours ago Evelyn had to help stitch up a huge gash, the deepest one she had seen so far. It wasn't anything that changed her, it was just surprising that the crowd really was that bad. She personally held it against Fall Out Boy. No, just kidding. Evelyn pulled up to the Crater in her old chevrolet. She waited until Metric turned off, and then climbed out of the car. She carefully shut the door after grabbing her purse.
Wait a seeeecond. Evelyn rummaged through her handbag, pulling her cellphone out and turning it off. No one was going to bother her. No one was going to worry about her. She was here by herself, she was here as a secret. She was only avoiding people for their own good.Quickly, she strutted into the nightclub after flashing her ID to a bouncer.
Evvy examined the dance floor, looking down on it from the balcony. The lights paraded across the floor and the people on it were enjoying themselves, like you should do in a nightclub. Hmm, maybe she'd also do some partying of her own after a couple of rounds. She made her way down to the bar, sitting on a leather stool and looking at the bartender. "Anything." She said. Okay, bad choice. Especially in this type of place, but Evelyn could honestly care less. Whatever he gave her was only going to help her. A few moments later a glass of something was placed down in front of her. She couldn't really make out the color but she knew that it had been mixed with at least five different things since she had watched him. "Here goes," she said, picking the glass up and taking a quick swig from it.
The lights that move sideways and up and down
The beat takes you over and spins you round
Our hearts steady-beating, the sweat turns to cold
We're slaves to the DJ and out of control
Immediately she put it back down on the glass bar, making a screwed up face but then a smile. "Perfect."
